The Bardini-museum in Florence (Italy) needs a new expansion and a newly designed entrance. The goal of the transformation is making the museum more visible and accessible. Together with three students of Maryland University we worked on this case. Just outside the cite centre of Florence is the Bardini-museum. This museum has a unique history, Mr. Bardini was the owner and artcollector of this museum. He not only collected art from all periods of history, he contructed his own artworks by combining different artifacts into one object. The renovated museum is made accessible for everyone by adding an elevator en thus improving circulating. The expansion is created as a new chapter in the new museums history. The colourful and sharp expansion attracts the attention from all perspectives. Folding panels, backlight in Bardini Blue, increase the visibility of the entrance.
